Pulling Truck & Tractor
Pulling is the single most aggressive form of competition as a show of
brute power and strength. A puller’s objective(s) sound simple enough; hook your
vehicle to a weight transfer sled and pull as much as you can, as far as you
can. However, this is where simplicity ends. For pulling, ideal track conditions
need to be a smooth, flat, straight section of track approximately 300 feet in
length. The smallest flaw in the track can stop a puller. There are many classes
to choose from in pulling; there are the local favorites: 4500, 5500, and
6500lbs local 4x4 classes. There is also the 8000lbs unlimited pickup class
where anything goes. There’s also a series of modified classes including: 2wd
blown pickups, and single engine blown tractors. Some of the more popular
tractor classes include Allison Aircraft Tractors; where a modified tractor has
an airplane engine for a power plant. More include super stock and super farm
tractors, then there is the real crowd pleaser, the multi engine
tractors.
